Hepatitis C Treatment: WellButrin and Effexor

I think the Riba is the worst culprit for the mental sides, but I also think there is a synergy between IFN and Riba, that makes things worse than if either drug were taken alone. If I recall corrctly, the Riba lit contains strong warnings about its neuropsychiatric side effects when in combo with IFN.

Several folks here have had problems with Effexor and/or Wellbutrin while on (or off of)tx. Maybe THEY will comment about their experiences (hint hint). Those two drugs are pretty serious norepinephrine re-uptake inhibitors, which means that when you take one of them, there is more norepinephrine flying around loose in your brain. (Nor)epinephrine is a stimulant. Wellbutrin made me crazy. It is good that you have access to lorazepam.

Yes this board is indeed awesome. Maybe saves peoples lives.
